Q: During the Fire Fighting episode 'why did the Chaos Crew not use the pump that they found in the scrapyard ?' and also 'why during the challenge did the water supply not work very well but improved considerable during the final fire after you refilled the water container ?'

A: The Chaos Crew responded personally .......... "We did find a good pump in the scrapyard that would have been perfect for the Knuckleheads machine but we still felt that a centrifugal pump would be much better so decided to build one from raw materials. We found a shaft with a type of impeller in the heap and based the pump around that", in respect of the second question the Chaos Crew replied "When we first filled the water tank we decided to only fill it quarter full of water which still took almost seven minutes to save time but the pump did indeed not pump very well. After refilling the water tank again quarter full we found the pump performed perfectly. It turned out after later investigation that when we first filled the tank it did not allow the centrifuge pump to operate correctly due to cavitation, but stopping to refill the tank allowed the pump to vent clear and that is why it worked so much better later"

Q: "I am sure that the scene of Lisa starting each team appeared to be the same video clip .......... so why did they not film Lisa performing each start for real ?. I also did not see any clear shots of Lisa during the presentation at the end ....... why did we not see Lisa ?"

A: On the day the filming was planned for the archery challenge unfortunately Lisa was already previously committed to filming for the series 'The Block' for which she is a presenter. So the film crew filmed all the sections requiring Lisa during the earlier part of the day, which included the close up shots of Lisa dropping the starting flag and the scenes to camera with Robert. During the rest of the day it was in fact a lady from the wardrobe and costume department who acted as the Lisa stand-in for the 'long shots' for example when the teams each started their challenge run. This is the first time this has happened and is not normal for the program but an unfortunate set of circumstances meant it was unavoidable.

Q: "Why was the Cops 'N' Bodgers propshaft flange welded onto the differential ?"

A: The Cops 'N' Bodgers respond personally .......... "The rear suspension was really bad, we had no weight on it and the original dodge leaf springs were too heavy and long so we used Landrover front springs, the downside was that they flexed too much under load and we dumped the prop shaft on more than one occasion resulting in the necessity of having it welded on to the differential flange. It held for the rest of the race although we could never really get the power down"
