The ZIPPO U.S. VINTAGE GRAND PRIX, WATKINS GLEN, NEW YORK, USA,

6th - 8th September 2002.

Forsaking our usual trip to Summit Point in May of 2002, it was decided that a trip to the Glen was called for at the start of September. As usual, I was joined by George Cormeny, Harvard Wood and Mike Johnson, my States-side team.  They did me proud again.  Great people, great weather and some great race cars to see.

I had never been to the Glen before and was not disappointed, by the quality of the field of cars or by the track itself.

Yes, and you'd probably guessed.......

it was Corvettes galore!!

See what I mean??

An ex-Alan Jones F5000 March

An F5000 Coyote -- I hadn't seen one of THOSE before!!

An ex-Ricardo Patrese Arrows F1 car.

Inside the garage, a Porsche 908. I had seen this car out at Summit Point the year before.

An early morning start for the Merlyn Formula Ford.

As per usual at these events, Porsche was well represented.
