Stroll from
England to Wales
and back
after tea

Stroll to Wales--stile marks frontier--no passports.
Cymru = Wales

The immediate area is rich in industrial archaeology. The picture left is of a "gin or gyn wheel" - a large drum which was part of the funicular tramway system to take stone from the quarries to the canal

Llanymynech Hill  -  The Rock
Home of a large iron age fort.
Quarried for minerals from Roman times to the First World War.
Limestone country with wide range of flora and fauna

View from Llanymynech rock towards the River Severn valley. This is the area where the river turns from its northwards route and starts to go south!
