For my 40th Birthday I wanted to pass my Full Bike Licence as it was something I had always wanted to do, So after much hint dropping and foot stomping, her indoors agreed to let me try. I booked up for some 2hr lessons with a local instructor Russ Todd. He had been a Police motorcyclist and is a ROSPA chief Instructor, I felt in good hands. After about 3 lessons Russ suggested I put in for my Test, this I promptly did. I had put in for a cancellation, but as the centre was busy this still took a couple of weeks to arrange. I Took my bike Test in September 1997 and passed first time ( Jammy or what?).

In the mean time I had been asking lots of questions about what sort of bike I should buy as my first bike, I never even owned a moped. I was put in touch with Kevin Hoyte Chairman of the local Virago owners club. He had two bikes at the time, one for his wife and one for himself, both were immaculate and you could have eaten you dinner off them. I liked the look of these bikes and was assured by Kevin that I would be perfectly alright on one, as my first bike especially as It was so low and I could get both feet squarely on the ground. So the deed was done and I ordered my bike one month before my bike test.

I have been on a number of Runs with the Virago owners club and have enjoyed every moment. I even went to France last year, but something was still missing ( Speed ) .

Well here it is, this bike is the B?@~#\?S, I have never enjoyed myself so much as when I am on this little baby. It handles like a dream, I would recommend everybody to try a sports bike at least once. After buying it, her indoors wanted me to go on, an Advanced course to make sure I knew how to handle the bike. This I did with STS of Cambridgeshire, Colin Fenton is the man running the course, It received  good reviews in all the mags and is well worth the money.

This Bike Is now a Year old and I keep looking at the ZX9-R but her indoors is still not convinced.
