VOLUNTEER POLICY
Club Statement:-
The Club welcomes volunteers but because of the huge number of juniors involved in the club, anyone who has any contact however remote with them must be vetted.
All Candidates must complete an application form, which includes:-
• Name, address and contact details
• Confirmation of identity
• Relevant experience, qualifications and training undertaken
• Listing of past career or involvement in Sport/Cricket
(To confirm experience and identify any gaps)
• The names of at least two people (not relatives) willing to provide written references that comment on the applicant’s previous experience of, and suitability for, working with Young People (previous employer)
• Details of any former involvement with Cricket
• Prior to an offer of appointment a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) form must be completed or if felt appropriate a self declaration form dependant on the position involved.
Induction which includes:-
• Verification of any qualifications
• The completion of a profile to identify any training needs/aspirations
• An explanation of the Club’s Codes of Conduct
• An explanation of Welfare of Young People and the Club’s Equity policy.
• Depending on the position a mentor may be appointed
• A briefing on the Club’s Constitution and its contents.
• An opportunity for the volunteer to raise any queries or ask any pertinent questions.
