Revd. Canon Karen Curnock will be joining us this summer as our new Vicar. Canon Curnock and her husband, Robert will be moving into the Vicarage in Cerne Abbas towards the end of June ready to commence her ministry with us in July. Karen Curnock is currently the Diocesan Secretary for the Salisbury Diocese with overall responsibility for the financial management of the organisation. Karen attended Theological College in the mid-70's and became a Licensed Lay Reader. She then pursued a successful career with the CEGB, Sainsburys and General Accident Assurance in Personnel, Pensions and Marketing, latterly as Marketing Director for the Wildlife Trust. She became a Deacon in 1995 and moved to the Diocesan appoinment at Salisbury. Robert is also enjoying a second career as a gardener having trained at Horticultural College after a number of years working for the Meat and Livestock Commission. Having lived in villages all their married life, Karen and Robert are looking forward to their move and joining in with our village's communities. Karen particularly looks forward to being with us, working with us and helping us to explore and develop our faith and beliefs. Karen and Robert enjoy walking and when on holiday, usually in the U.K., like to walk as much as they can and to catch up on their reading. We all warmly welcome them.
