Barnsley Central District Scout Fellowship
Information and Explanation

What is the Scout Fellowship?

Our Scout Fellowship is a body of adults. We aims to provide a means by which all adults can be involved in Scouting by actively supporting the activities of the Scout Association. We thus provide a service to scouting. The Motto is "Providing Active Support".

In this Fellowship we mainly provide Active Support for Barnsley Central Scout District and South Yorkshire Scout County

South Yorkshire County .

This ranges from members judging Beaver Competitions and

the District Newsletter Bartrade Bartrade " and also the County Newsletter R-O-S-Y's R-O-S-Y's
to working at the local Scout Camp Site, "Silverwood".
or help at District events especially Saint George's day.

How does it work?

We are very much a club, we provide active support for District and County but we also enjoy ourselves regularly through these supportive activities, but also other Social Activities. Each member can become involved as much or as little as he or she wants.

For more details of what we do, see the News page.

Who can join?

The minimum age for membership is 18 years old. There is no maximum age. Members of the Scout Network are particularly welcome.

What do I do in the Fellowship?

This is very much up to you. The main aim is to provide active support to Scouting.

What does it cost?

Like all other forms of club, membership carries a subscription. Currently the Barnsley Central District Scout Fellowship pay their own National Membership Subscription (They have been exempt County and District fees)

There is usually in addition a small local fee. This applies to all members including those over 65 years. Fund raising helps to keep this low.
