TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE JULY 16th 2000.

The total Lunar Eclipse on Sunday July 16th 2000 is the longest duration total lunar eclipse since August 1859. Totality lasts for 1 hour 47 minutes and 1 second. The eclipse is visible from Asia, Austraia, Western America and much of Eastern Africa. It is not visible from Europe and the UK. Nevertheless this is a 'strong' eclipse. Astrologers may well attribute powerful influences to it. The view here is that it is a blisteringly energetic event and that its influence may tend to the wayward and to the climatic.

The Saros series to which this eclipse belongs is at the peak of cycle. This eclipse is member 37 of the series of 71. The last eclipse of this series was July 6th 1982.
