Karun 2001 Expedition
Good trips are invariably initiated as another is finishing, and so it was with this one.
In Lyon airport over a coffee after a week of adventure in the Alps. High water, broken dams, floods, epic gorges and 'technique noveau' were all part of the so called 'holiday'.
The inevitable question "what next?"
"Iran?!?" suggested Loel, "Manby & Rob went this year
and they suggested it could be the 'new' Nepal. I know Paul is interested.
Iran??!? Paddling in Iran!??!
Oh yes there is certainly paddling in Iran as I found out this April (2001). We explored the Karun River area in South Western. This site has photos and soon a description of the river.
