Our music covers a wide range of styles. Big Band numbers always feature in our programmes: the compilation Big Band Classics is always enthusiastically received as are such hits as A Whiter Shade of Pale and One Moment in Time. Miller Magic, Hoagy Carmichael in Concert and Sinatra complilations. Marches and waltzes are unfailingly popular as are novelties - Mexican Holiday, Italian Festival, Hootenanny, El Festivo, Souvenirs de France, Gypsy Idyll - titles that speak for themselves.

We also include favourite overtures such as Light Cavalry and Orpheus in the Underworld, selections from the great musicals - Oliver!, The Phantom of the Opera, South Pacific, and Fiddler on the Roof; television theme tunes - Soldier, Soldier and Last of the Summer Wine; plus works from the golden age of British light music by such writers as Eric Coates, Percy Fletcher and Frederic Curzon. Works by leading classical composers, among them Gustav Holst, Vaughan Williams and Aaron Copland also have a place in our concerts.

Among our members are several who have attained the status of soloist. Accompanied by the band they offer such delights as Adagietto for Flute, Felicita for Euphonium, and an evocative Trumpets in the Night. Xylophone, trombone and tuba solos also feature in our programmes. A veritable Aladdin's cave of music.
