Geoff Moore (12K)


The Musical Director of The Invicta Concert Band is Geoff Moore. Geoff, who lives in Sittingbourne, has a background in Military music. He now works as a freelance tuba player, and peripatetic brass teacher in schools. Geoff graduated from Canterbury Christ Church University in 2002 with an Honours degree in Music. He is the Music Director of several ensembles including Premier Brass.

Geoff served for six years with the Band of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers as a tuba player. On leaving the Army he served a further four years with the Territorial Army. As an Army musician, he performed in the Military Band, Trad Band, German Band, Fanfare Team and also as soloist. He served in the Gulf War in 1990. He contributed to many important UK ceremonial events and international band tours.

Geoff founded Premier Brass in 1995. He travels around the country with the group performing at many events, both private and public. Geoff also freelances as a tuba player in a variety of ensembles and orchestras. His solo performances include the Concerto for Bass Tuba by Ralph Vaughan Williams. Geoff is the Musical Director and Drum Major of the 24th Invicta Rifles Band.
