Mary was with her husband at a sale of furniture in the neighbourhood
of Wiveliscombe, in the village of Langford, when
he took up a pistol which was lying on one of the tables.
It was, unfoitunately, loaded, and went off. The bullet
penetrated Mary's lung, and in a few days
afterwards she died. The accident took place on
February 27th, and she died March 22nd, 1819.
