SEASON ONE

Swiftnick

When the corrupt Sir John Glutton tries to evict Mary Smith from her inn, The Black Swan, her son Nicholas decides to take matters into his own hands and steal the money that they need. Unfortunately, he chooses the wrong person to rob - the notorious Dick Turpin

The Capture

Turpin still isn't sure that he wants an apprentice, so tries to hand Swiftnick over to someone a little more respectable. Unfortunately, the moment he manages it, he winds up captured and it is up to Swiftnick to come to his rescue.

The Champion

The village of Mudbury is being controlled by the sinister Nightingale and his tame bully, Hogg. When Swiftnick inadvertently sets up a confrontation between Dick and Hogg, Turpin's only chance lies in help from Tome Bracewell, also known as the Bristol Butcher.

The Poacher

Someone is poaching on Turpin's territory, and he is determined to find out who it is.

The Pursuit

Another highwayman has the temerity to steal from Turpin and he is determined to find the culprit and make him pay.

The Blacksmith

The blacksmith Sam Morgan is one of Turpin's fences. This leads to his being thrown into jail by Spiker, who hopes to lure Dick into making a rescue attempt that will lead to his own capture.

The Impostor

Sir John Glutton hires a man to impersonate Turpin, discrediting him in the eyes of the common folk. The impostor shoots Varley, Swiftnick's uncle, leading to a rift between Swiftnick and Turpin that has tragic consequences,

The Upright Man

Turpin goes to the aid of Sal Hawke after her husband is ambushed and hanged. He soon finds himself clashing with Tyson Sarney, leader of the notorious Brotherhood.

The Whipping Boy

When the Duke of Hertford is robbed by Turpin, his furious demands that something be done leads to the sacking of Spiker and the hiring of Colonel Moat, an old enemy of Dick's. With Dick away, Swiftnick is captured and held prisoner, ready to be hanged.

The Hero

A marriage has been arranged between Spiker and a young noblewoman called Phylida. This doesn't sit well with Phylida's ardent suitor, Ffoulkes-Withers, who hits on the scheme of pretending to be Dick Turpin and kidnapping Phylida to save and impress her. Unfortunately, things don't go according to plan.

The Hostages

When Swiftnick discovers that Glutton is keeping two children captive, he decides to rescue them, despite Turpin telling him not to.

The Turncoat

Glutton is in trouble up to his neck, when a letter implicating him as a Jacobite sympathiser surfaces. Desperate, he turns to the most unlikely of allies for help - Dick Turpin!

The Jail-Birds

Dick and Swiftnick are captured, this time seemingly without a chance of escape.

 

SEASON TWO

The Fox - Part One

Stumbling across a dying man in the woods, Dick and Swiftnick find themselves in the power of Lord Manderfell, who offers Turpin the choice of either being hanged, or winning his freedom by agreeing to being hunted like a fox for the amusement of himself and his friends.

The Fox - Part Two

Desperately trying to stay one step ahead of Lord Manderfell and his bloodthirsty friends, Turpin discovers the secret behind the dying man's words, and finds out who the rightful owner of Joe Cutler's loot is.

Blood Money

Turpin and Swiftnick cross paths with Glutton once again. Discredited and in hiding, Glutton nevertheless persists on plotting to get back into power. It isn't long before Dick and Swiftnick find themselves involved in his schemes.

Deadlier Than The Male

Turpin meets the beautiful Catherine Langford and soon finds himself in a great deal of trouble. Swiftnick, in the meantime, is in a mess of his own.

The Elixir of Youth

Dick and Swiftnick are holed up at Poll Maggot's inn while waiting for some of their loot to be fenced. When some dragoons arrive at the pub, bent on their arrest, they find themselves needing the help of the mysterious Dr Mandragola.

The Thief-taker

Turpin and Swiftnick are targeted by the thief-takers, Snare and Handy. Turpin decides that the best form of defence is a good offence.

The Judge

Sir John Glutton is up to his usual tricks, stealing land from the common folk to feather his own nest. Turpin decides to teach him a lesson.

Sentence of Death - Part One

Barnaby Husk comes back into the lives of Poll Maggot and Dick Turpin.

Sentence of Death - Part Two

Turpin and Swiftnick are determined to rescue Barnaby's young hostage.

The Godmother

Glutton has told his godmother a great many lies, chief amongst them the fact that he is married with two children. When his bluff is called by the Countess wanting to visit, Glutton needs to find a wife - and find one fast. Unfortunately, the one he winds up is telling quite a large lie of her own.

The Secret Folk

When they are pursued by Spiker, Dick and Swiftnick seek refuge in the deep forest, only to become dangerously involved with a band of gypsies.

The King's Shilling

Swiftnick finds himself a reluctant recruit in the King's army.

The Hanging

Turpin and Swiftnick find themselves caught up in the affairs of the mysterious Mrs Brownlow.
