otherness in relationships

Dealing with the ‘otherness’ of the other can present us with a number of issues. In particular where:

• otherness is seen as something dangerous and thus in need of control;

• difference, especially of culture, is such that we feel limited in what we can do; and

• where dislike of the person makes being and working with them difficult.
