It's with regret that I inform you that little Rhys Daniels, died at his home in Epping in Essex on Monday 21st December 1998. Evening Standard NewspaperRhys, who would have been eight next week was born with Batten's disease, a rare progressive genetic disorder which causes blindness, dementia and immobility. Most children do not live beyond 10. Members of Freckles would have read about Patsy contributing to a record which was recorded for the Charitable Trust formed by Rhys's parents. The Daniels Charitable Trust is for children with Battens disease and families of sick children.

Rhys's condition had deteriorated in the past year. Last
month, his parents were still playing his favourite video - ET-
for him to listen to. Patsy was informed tonight and
will be in close contact with the Daniels at this time. I
can only feel a sense of calm about Rhys's death, because he's
free. God Bless you little Rhys. Judy
Benoit, Editor. Rhys Daniels will be buried today at St. John the Baptist Church, Epping. The family have requested no flowers. Donations can be sent to the Daniels Charitable Trust, Cartoon House, Hennall St. Epping, Essex CM16 4NQ.
