The marriage of

Julie Harris and Nick Love

Well it all started with that awful mistake and the registry office at Bow. The press were there despite the big hush to keep it exclusive.

Patsy was downstairs and away from glaring eyes and cameras. She wore a pretty Nicole Farhi dress, wide rim hat from Dickens & Jones and held a posy of white lilies. The registrar invited us in.

After a few brief words, we were all asked to leave again while the registrar spoke to Patsy and Nick privately. Soon after they reemerged, with our Patsy in tears saying "They won't marry us".

Despite the efforts OK magazine and Patsy's agent David Milner, nothing could be done to prevent the wedding from being postponed until Wednesday. The problem was that relevant documentation was filled out by Nick's brother in law in an attempt to divert the press from suspecting that Nick and Patsy were to marry shortly. As a result, errors were made. The wedding was postponed until Wednesday.

The wedding on Wednesday passed without a hitch and the couple made a mad dash to Heathrow as it was the morning of their flight to La Manga, Murcia in Southern Spain.

At the airport were the usual press entourage and many a evasive strategy was implemented to avoid further unauthorised photo calls. They followed the couple all around the airport, but Patsy and Nick managed get away.  Peace at last, Patsy and Nick sat tuck away in a little airport restaurant eating oysters, and waited for their flight to Madrid in Spain.

During their short stop over, the couple shopped till they dropped while awaiting their connecting flight to Murcia. They bought designer T.shirts which were better value than in England.

Their flight to Murcia was not quite as relaxing as the first.  They flew by light aircraft and Patsy confesses that she was not too happy up there with those little engines buzzing beside her. They landed safely and was greeted by their family and friends who had arrived earlier in the week.

La Manga 1,400 acre paradise nestled between the low hills which separate the Mediterranean from the sea of La Manga del Mar Menor in the southeast of Spain.

The resort was so absolutely stunning, they sunbathed by the pool for the next few days to prepare themselves for one of the biggest days of their lives.

The blessing ceremony was held in a tiny church in Los Belones and went well, no hiccups to report, everyone and everything looked delightful, the church, the guests, the bridesmaids and Charley in his Gucci suit which was identical to Nick's and of course the bride. Her gold lace dress came from Basia Zarzycka's shop on the King's Road, London.

The blessing was beautiful, tears were streaming down the faces of the congregation as Reverend Wakeham said' ' God keeps giving you love, that love shines from your eyes to one another and will continue to grow in your hearts', a truly emotion moment.

They returned to La Manga amidst a swarm of press photographers and the curious public followed by their family and friends who included fellow EastEnders Sid Owen, Richard Driscoll, Martine McCutcheon and Lindsay Coulson who played Bianca's mother Carol Jackson.  Hidden from the papparazi they settled down to a champagne reception and a lavish buffet.  Around the golden fountain which had been subtly decorated by a shower of flower petals, Patsy threw her beautiful wedding bouquet in the air and was caught by her close friend Georgina Pavia.  Patsy is now looking forward to Georgina and long term boyfriend Ian tying the knot in the near future.

Married life now is fabulous for the happy couple. I asked Patsy if she now feels like Patsy Palmer or Mrs. Julie Love. "Julie Love is after all my real name." she replied.

Nick and Patsy's relationship has been great for Charley but the marriage really gives him an extra sense of security. At the moment, there are no plans for a new baby but Patsy says that when it happens, it will be marvellous.

Both Nick and Patsy value family greatly as anyone could see from the guest list at La Manga. They are a wonderful couple and will make wonderful parents as proven with Charley. Both myself and the fan's all over the world, wish them all the best for the future.

This is a picture of Georgina with Patsy in Spain last year

Nick proposed to Patsy in Paris 2 years ago at the top of the famous Parisian church 'La Sacre Coeur'. Patsy knew something was up, but she didn't give the game away. She did however moan all the way to the top and then insisted that Nick get on down one knee in front of all the other tourists. And there, surrounded by the most incredible view of Paris, Nick placed the engagement ring created especially for Patsy, on her finger.
