OPINION

Everything in Physics is being quantized at the moment, (they are even trying to quantize waves). Atoms have long been a suitable target for quantization: They bombard fundamental particles together and find more 'particles', they 'bash' these together and find even more!
If you are going to use particles to find particles, you will find more particles. And more particles. Forever. What? Do they think that it is all going to stop someday, and there is going to be an ultimate particle? Get real!
You'd think, to hear them talk, that the argument over 'wave-particle duality' was over, and had been won by the particle lobby. Err, sorry to remind you guys, but in fact at the last count it was a draw. Sometimes atoms/electrons etc seem to behave like waves, and sometimes they behave like particles.
So why all the fuss, over another new particle being discovered. Great, so you think you have managed to break the electron down eh? Where is this getting you?
My opinion on this page, is very simple: Please place more emphasis to the WAVE side of the argument, since you have gone far to far in the opposite direction!
Actually, at this point I find myself believing that quatizing the universe was actually a red herring, since it seems to me that the universe is more likely to be based on an analogue wave structure.
It seems to me that the quantization effect comes about, not from the fundamental structure of the universe, but from the atoms themselves. The universe will be understood though the investigation of space, not necessarily of atoms. Just because atoms emit radiation at discrete energy levels does not mean that the universe itself is inherently particalized.
The plank constant, which would seem to suggest that the universe was a mere 'bitmap' would then be explained as a result of using 'atoms' to probe the universe, and not radiation. I don't know about you, but I live in an analogue brain, in an analogue universe.
You only need to look at simple 'numbers' to realise that, mathematically speaking, a particle is impossible. The number 3 stands for 3.0000000.... ...math is analogue, so is the universe.
Please tell me what you thought...
