Go Back Developing Colour  Go to Contents

Its another of those things that everyone says is difficult, but really isn't. True you need some basic equipment, but you may already have most of that if you have done any b+w developing. The point is, with a little care you can produce your own colour photographs, developing the film, the prints and any enlargements you might want.

Why DIY? (..because you can do it better).
Precautions Care with Chemicals.
Colour photography  A description of the colour process.
Developing the film Chemicals, Equipment, and just a little care.
Exposing prints  Filtration and Enlarging.
Developing prints  Simple print processing notes.

I hope this brief tutorial inspires someone out there to have a go at colour processing. I remember when I first started B+W processing, the book I learnt from told me to leave colour to the professionals. Well, I've done that - but now I have realised: "If a job's worth doing, its worth doing yourself".
