Inv

Inv was the first 256 program I wrote for a competition, and I am pleased to say that it won! Its most interesting feature is a degree of self modification. This was done to allow variables to be stored within the program code itself. For example there are mov instructions which seem to load constants, but which are in fact loading data which is changed each time the main loop is run.

Download and play INV.COM now! Files with .COM extensions can sometimes cause problems with certain browsers, so the program has been zipped for downloading convenience, even though it is (I hope!) incompressible. Uncompress the files using PKware's UNZIP program, (or Windows alternative).

View the INV documentation (General information about INV.COM including features, and programming tricks).

View the source code for INV (The source code for the game).
