So what?

You may well ask. What has all this got to do with me? Well, there are some pretty important votes coming up in the UK in the next few years. If you live in Scotland or Wales, you may well already have voted on the devolution issue. There will be a general election in the year 2002; if Labour win this, as seems likely, there will be a referendum on whether Britain should join the single currency or not in around 2003.

I will not tell you how to vote. All that I ask of you is to think carefully about the issues, in both the General Election, and in any referendum on the euro. What do you really want? Populist change? Spin? Gloss? Or, perhaps, you would prefer considered change, the truth, and honesty. The latter are the values of the Conservative party.
