Civic Trust York
Civic Trust was established in 1946 with the aim of preserving the
city’s rich architectural and cultural heritage for the benefit
of all. Grants have been made to facilitate conservation work by
other bodies (valued at around £4 million in today’s terms), and
the Trust has also cared for and found new uses for a number of
redundant churches.
