Experimenting With Happiness 21/07/03 00:09
Well July's nearly over but what a month it's been. The Strip in Bar Five nightclub, Swansea has taken off quite nicely and has given us rock lovers somewhere to go on a Saturday night and I've also just had the honour of djing at the wedding reception of one of my longest-running friends on my home turf which was really good - especially considering I'd sworn I would never do a wedding reception ever again 5 years ago. Artistically I've been fabulously lazy as I always am over the summer months but I got the 'Pauses' images finished and sent off for the forthcoming International Mini Art Exchange in the Ibere Camargo Gallery of the Cultural Center Usina do Gasometro, in Porto Alegre, Brazil. The show runs for most of August and is should also grace European soils sometime next year.
It's been very exciting developing the work for the show because the restrictions imposed on the works gave me the freedom and confidence to exhibit small-scale works, which I've previously been a bit reluctant to. With this in mind I also produced a tiny version of Landscape 000 which was a bit of a cop-out with a thoroughly pretentious title but hey, it did the trick and got me into the Swansea Open Exhibition in the Glynn Vivian gallery for a second year running. I rule! Meanwhile expect an updated links page soon as well, I noticed with horror that half the links are broken. Perhaps I'm getting old or just soft in the head...
