The News Of The Foz

Meanwhile, Back On The Ranch... 05/10/03 13:57

The Beatles once sang that 'Happiness Is a Warm Gun'. They were wrong, although guns can be quite fun especially if combined with tequila. After spending an entire month moving house (it's a long story) I have come to the difficult conclusion that happiness is actually having a warm flat with a nice living room, a guestroom, a double bed for you to spend lots of time with your exceptionally beautiful girlfriend and a whapping big front room to use as a studio.

This Autumn sees a mixed bag of things coming out of my twisted and warped big dipper of productivity. The Pre-Life Crisis project can never ever ever be finished because how do you end a project like that before you reach middle-age? Fuck knows. Anyway I will get 80 slides ready for display by Christmas even if it kills me. Preparations are starting for a fabulously eccentric project in collaboration with my friend Sian Pearce who spends her weekends running around in fields hitting people with very sharp, very real, swords. The project's provisionally titled 'Dress To Kill' and it's very, very silly. ;-) I'm also about to embark upon three months of woodcuts because I've not really done any printing since I was 18 and I miss the splinters. Expect the prints to be on sale via this site in the new year.

The actual woodcuts are going to be a mixture of the Pre-Life Crisis, 5 Short Films (remember that?) series' and all these doodles that I keep bringing back from my increasingly dull day job. Expect them to be rude, crude and a little bit trippy...
