The News Of The Foz
Snow In Swansea!!?? 27/02/04 00:45 Well it's never ever happened before in the 5 & a bit years I've been here but it's finally proper snowed in Swansea, which came as a bit of a shock when I staggered out of work at 10 at night. The whole of Swansea was totally covered in the sort of white coverage you only see in naff American Christmas movies, which was really cool. The missus didn't appreciate it however as she thoroughly detests snow with a passion but then she's Scottish where they have snow all the time so she just doesn't understand these things. The only thing better than Swansea getting snow was knowing that Cardiff didn't - have some of that ya bastards! Hopefully the weather should deter the little townie pricks who keep breaking into my car. For months I kept getting into the Nova each morning thinking 'that's weird, I don't remember leaving the door unlocked or the glove box wide open' only one day to find the little shits had tried kicking the gearstick lock off. The result - knackered handbrake and slightly wonky gears with no insurance to cover it thanks to the joy of only being able to afford 3rd party. Then, no less than a fortnight after getting the thing fixed they came back again, got the lock off (trashed the handbrake a second time) and buggered the plastic under the wheel trying to hotwire it. To top it all off they had the audacity to not even steal the thing even though they were literally millimetres away from having it. Some joyriders crashed into the front wall in front of my flat the other day as well, it's just a shame they weren't killed. So what's happening with all the DJ things and art then? Well I came off training last week at HSBC so my new shift patterns give me every Monday off to spend on artwork so I've done a bit more for Pre-Life Crisis. Also starting initial discussions with other artists to get an exhibition together to show it. Had a setback the other day because someone managed to scuff a landscape that hadn't dried so that needs some major repair work on it and the website for The Strip finally went live the other week. I handed in my notice at 'Lush' because it didn't seem to be going anywhere and my new late shifts clash with it anyway but I'm putting a new night together at my old haunt Monkey on Castle Street, which has recently expanded to twice its previous size. Nice.
