The News Of The Foz

It's Finished! It's Finished!!! 09/04/04 12:21

Eighty one images, nearly 1gb in size and only 15 months longer to complete than originally anticipated I've finally completed the images for Pre-Life Crisis. Now all I need is to get them onto slide and Stage Two can kick off - exhibition and merchandise.

Initially the series will be displayed on this web site but I'm trying to arrange a South Wales venue to show the slide sequence within the next 12 months and hopefully take it on tour. I'll also be producing paintings and prints from it as well as the tackier merchandise. I need to find an alternative to Cafepress though as they charge far too much for European buyers with the delivery, customs duty etc. Need to find a UK based printers and stump up the cash to buy a whole run of items rather than relying on the low-risk cafepress prototype model.

In the long-run I need to find a way to exhibit my work at Glastonbury Festival. Buying tickets this year was an absolute fiasco and I only just managed to get one through a bit of negotiating by some friends. And that still hasn't been confirmed! I've been going for many years now and have been getting a bit bored with just experiencing the festival passively. With a few exceptions the festival's not really about the bands for me, it's more the ability to see things like the screenings of 1GiantLeap a couple of years back or The Lost Vagueness field and wierd sculptures and processions and things.

Got a small drawing from Pre-Life Crisis in an exhibition at Exposure on College Street in Swansea. That opens in a week or so and it's my first show at this new venue run by the Swansea Guild Of Artists, who used to run The Lounge. How I miss that place! Exposure is a bit slicker, a bit warmer and in a better location than The Lounge but at the same time much much smaller. Nice atmosphere though.
