LHR-HEL met Danny at Hilton Helsinki. 

People on ASR had the weeks cancelled after they arrived at Helsinki!

6/7/19

Up early, flight to MMK, trf to camp, good camp, some of the people from Rynda & Kharlovka here as well. Finns to arrive later apparently.   Posh gits arrived from the UK. Completed pissed & spewed up in the night. 

7/7/19

Bloody awful day on top beat Murtha with useless guide. No English, Danny 1 fish 3 lbs , not a touch for me. Supposedly the best beat to fish. 

8/7/19

Bottom beat Monika, 1 fish 4 lbs, 1 lost & a pull. Sunny & windy all day. Danny didn’t have a touch all day. Alex was guide & very good compared to yesterday.  Lovely pool, v long & varied.

Bridge pool with Froden.  Slightly overcast, still windy though. 

14lbs salmon on third cast.

Kitza junction to pump

2 tugs for me in aquarium. Danny had 1 of 7-8 lbs, lost a monster in the junction pool that broke 14kg line. Matthew guide, long wait for the bus. Over 1 hr late back to camp. 

11/7/19

Kitza with Seppo. One fish of 22 lbs from bridge pool on pot bellied pig. Danny had none, 2 hooked briefly but came off. I lost a small grilse.   Bloody freezing day!

12/7/19

Upper Monika with Jenya. 

Still cold with N wind.   Will be glad to be leaving here. River is ok, but guides are rubbish & there are very few taking fish about. This hasn’t been an enjoyable trip at all. Always standing on bloody stones for hours on end. 

Didn’t have a touch all day in the cold & wind. Crap week, standing on stones. 

46 fish, 15 fishers. 0.51 per rod per day.
