WHAT THIS STORY IS ABOUT

Kidnapped!
The dirtiest word of all, perhaps, in the vocabulary of crime. And when kidnapping is tied up with the threat of murder of the innocent victim if fabulous ransom is not paid, the anguish of parents of the kidnapped is almost unimaginable.

A single kidnapping is bad enough. But when Hank Janson sets out to solve one he runs into a plot to carry out a series of snatches of young girls of well-to-do mothers, planned to net the perpetrators a huge fortune if they succeed.

The plot springs originally from a schoolgirl prank to form a virgins club, the members of all being tattooed with the letter "V" in an inconspicuous place. Many years later it is the daughters of these girls who get kidnapped and threatened.

It's a long, long trail of investigation for Hank, tracing the former club members to get to a solution of the mystery that has caused so much grief, and finally landing the culprits behind bars - for which, of course, his old police friend, Tiny, gets most of the credit.

But on the way to this solution, Hank find his experiences anything but unexciting, especially with so many dames involved!
