My predictions are either pretty ropey or ruled by my heart - I'm sure you can do better so mail me with you score, scorers and match ideas at wearetottenhamfromthelane@jmdcon.com
| Derby County - (FA Premiership) - Away 3rd March - Prediction Spurs to draw 0-0 |
| If ever us long suffering
travelling Spurs fans ever looked at a match and thought
of a 0-0 this is it. Derby have generally been very tight
at the back since former Baseball Ground hero Colin Todd
took over as defensive coach in November. Gooner Graham
will be out to get something from the game, and with
thoughts of the Everton bore draw, the question is
whether we will manage a shot on target. Oh what fun it
is to see Tottenham play away....................As ever John Stevens is more optimistic,
and is joined in his 2-1 prediction by spursfc webmaster
Martin Brooks. A result that would suit all of us. You'd think we'd have leant by now!!!! |
| Leeds United - Home 24th February - Prediction Spurs to win 1-0 |
| There have been many good times
to have played Leeds this season, but now is probably not
one of them. I hope they are tired from their midweek
trip to play Anderlecht and have their minds on
qualifying for the final stages of Champions League.
Spurs will have their first real test against a good team
since the start of the year and will a bit of luck and
the confidence behind them they can manage to sneak a win
(although another 0-0 is probably most likely). Spurs fan in China Ian Godfrey fancies us
to win 3-1, with Rebrov, Davies and Sol to be the scorers
and John "Meatloaf" Stevens has suggested a
repeat of last week, with a 4-0 scoreline Spurs played ok, but a decent Leeds team had too much for them aided by a dodgy ref |
| Stockport County (FAC 5)- Home 17th February - Prediction Spurs to win 2-0 |
| I have a feeling this match
will be more difficult than it looks on paper, as
Stockport have played well recently under their new
manager and are difficult to beat. In saying that,
confidence should be high amongst the Spurs players and
with Carr returning they should win as long as they don't
take it too easy.John (Meatloaf)
Stevens, a Northern yiddo is more confident suggesting 4-1
win and a Rebrov hatrick - lets hope he's right Meatloaf was on the ball here - only missing out by bad finishing from Stockport. At least we both right |
| Manchester City - Away 10th February - Prediction Spurs to win 3-1 |
| After the midweek goal glut,
lets hope Spurs can keep it going at a struggling Man
City - it all depends on the approach - if we go and
attack, the game is ours, otherwise its another 0-0 -
Come on you Spurs!! A good result, but another moderate performance |
| Charlton Athletic - Away 7th February - Prediction Spurs to draw 0-0 |
| More Boring crap from the
Goonersaurus's as he gets excited about beating the all
time number of consecutive 0-0 and boring displays -This
is the MOST important game of the season and we cannot
afford to lose - Come on you Spurs As brilliant as it seemed unlikely - 2-0 down to 4-2 up, this is the year for Spurs |
| Charlton Athletic - Home 3rd February - Prediction Spurs to win 2-0 |
| With a decent performance
against West Ham, we should be too good for an injury hit
Charlton who have struggled on their travels Boring Crap - Graham out |
| West Ham United - Away 31st January - Prediction Spurs to lose 2-0 |
| I'm sorry to tip us to lose but
I can't see past the all to familiar no goals and no
clean sheet on the road - West Ham traditionally a poor
man's Tottenham and much the least loathesome of the
other serious London clubs have too much for us all over
the pitch, especially up front, where "the best
Spurs player that was n't" Di Canio will be a
handful. Here's hoping for egg all over my chops and our
first away win! A well won point to break the monotony of dismal away performances |
| Southampton - Home 20th January - Prediction Spurs to win 1-0 |
| We've given Southampton some
batterings over the years 8-0 (1936), 6-2 (Ronnie day in
1995), 6-0 (Villa hatrick in 1982), 6-1(1968), 5-3 (1986),
5-2 (1931) 5-1 (1985) a couple of 5-0's in the 1930's not
forgetting last season's 7-2 - but after watching the
Everton game I'd be pleased with a goal - something they
have managed in only one of the last five league games.
Glennda will want to impress his future employers and
make up for last year (where we were losing 1-0 and 2-1
before comedy defending from the Ramon school took us
clear. Boring and hopless (again) - its just like watching Brazil (Alan Brazil mend a fence) |
| Everton - Away 13th January - Prediction Spurs to win 2-1 |
| Dedodohdontdeydo eh eh! Can
even Graham cock up our great recrod against the Blue
scousers - maybe - he did his best last year taking off
Ginola when we were winning 2-1 to be defending the goal
line to the rest of the game, eventually conceding an
equaliser in injury time. Everton have beaten the Arse
and Chelsea, but god help us if we can't beat this injury
ravaged two bob outfit Boring and hopless - not a shot on target |
| Leyton Orient (FACup 3rd Round) - Away 6th January - Prediction Spurs to win 2-0 |
| One win and I'm off on another
mad prediction! - A Tottenham away win. I saw Orient last
season when they were struggling and they were pretty
ropey. Despite being near the top of their division and
raising their game for the Cup and Local derby, Spurs
should have too much class (unless Graham has another
masterstroke) Another correct prediction - lucky as it was - we're on the road to Cardiff - Tottenham's going to do it again |
| Newcastle United - Home 2nd January - Prediction Spurs to win 1-0 |
| We are awful at the moment and
Newcastle without find difficulty scoring, esp away from
home and have not won in London for a few years. Three
points would be nice to head off any thoughts of a
relegation scrap A win at last (and a correct prediction) - and what a game |
| Ispwich Town - Away 30th December - Prediction Spurs to win 2-1 |
| This should be a tough match,
but if Spurs play well, there is no reason why we cannot
complete the first double of the season against a good
footballing Ispwich side who might start feeling the
pressure of their lofty Premiership position What was I thinking - Graham's Tottenham away from home - no goals and no clean sheet = defeat again |
| Southampton - Away 27th December - Prediction Spurs to win 3-2 |
| In what should be a good open
game, Spurs should be able to get their belated first
away win of the season against a relegation threatened
Saints who have the tactical nous of Glennda between them
and the drop I somehow managed to think we'd score three away - that's all I did wrong!! |
| Middlesbrough - Home 23rd December - Prediction Spurs to win 3-0 |
| A different league to the scum
and the other decent teams that have visited the lane
recently and must surely be put to the sword - Venables
or not - as long as Spurs don't take it too easy They came, they bored, they timewasted and the officials don't know the rules - a disappointing point |
| Arsenal - Home 18th December - Prediction Spurs to win 1-0 |
| The scum are in town and we
have to be at our very best to get something from this
game, but with a bit of luck and the good gods triumphing
over the evil gods we might just get something - lets
hope so, please A great performance from the team, just a pity they could n't hang on for a win. Sully man of the match with a great display |
| Bradford City - Away 9th December - Prediction Spurs to win 3-0 |
| No double talk about no easy
games in the premiership - this is a straightforward task
against a mixed bag of lower league journeymen and
clapped out former stars - and in truth is a game we must
win - no excuses this time More dumb ways to protect a 3-1 lead against a team at the bottom |
| Manchester United - Away 2nd December - Prediction Spurs to draw 1-1 |
| I was there in 1989 the last
time we won at Old Trafford (twice in a month if you
count the 3-0 league cup win) and despite the good couple
of results in the last two games its another story away
from the Lane against the likes of Coventry and Charlton
so there's not much hope at ManUre, although an inspired
performance and another clean sheet ..... well no then! Wrong again - I should stick to tipping them to lose away, it might be their only hope of a point |
| Leicester City - Home 25th November - Prediction Spurs to draw 1-1 |
| Despite winning the big one at
Wembley in 1999, Spurs have generally struggled against
well organised and tough Leciester sides, but with a bit
of luck and another good display we can continue the home
form miracle although the draw appeals for betting
purposes Wrong again, but delighted with the win |
| Liverpool - Home 18th November - Prediction Spurs to lose 1-3 |
| Spurs have done well against
Liverpool in recent seasons at the Lane, but the shambles
that lost at Villa will have no answer to Liverpool and
the bad luck of the Sky cameras should ensure more misery
a the Lane, which can only be lifted by Graham resigning Gloriously wrong - an excellent display by the team |
| Aston Villa - Away 11th November - Prediction Spurs to win 2-1 |
| More tipping madness as I go
for a Spurs away win, let alone against a team in the top
6 (the last win of this nature occured under a Tory
Government), but after all, they are only cup-a-soup
brummies with a junkie goon reject as their best player (that
gets in the team) and a Cockney impersonator from
Scunthorpe as a manager, so here's hoping. Dire Dire shite |
| Sunderland - Home 4th November - Prediction Spurs to win 1-0 |
| Sunderland are a very solid outfit
playing well as a team and relying on Phillips for the
goals, and represent the toughest opponants at the Lane
this season. Spurs will need to play well and with a bit
of luck and Rebrov back from injury we can sneak it by
the odd goal. . Update - after the Birmingham match,
there is very little chance of us winning this match.
More gloom at the lane. A good win which has lifted the short term gloom although the underlying problems remain |
| Birmingham City - Home 31st October - Prediction Spurs to win 2-1 |
| A must win game. Like two seasons ago the
League cup offers us the best route of escape from the
treadmill of mid table mediocrity via a major final and a
route into Europe. Lets hope the home record holds up and
we can beat the Cup-a Soupies on the way to another
sucess in a year ending in 1. A defeat would be
unthinkable in terms of where it leaves the club. If ever
there was a bad luck thing, click on the following link
to plot our route to the final Spurs-WC-0001 Truely dire. Graham has to go and soon, with Sugar close behind, but in that order |
| Chelsea - Away 28th October - Prediction Spurs to draw 1-1 |
| I have to remain positive .........
despite the fact we have 1 point from 15 away from home,
have not beaten Chelsea since 1900, Chelsea beat Coventry
6-1, who beat us 2-1 the week before and Jimmy Floyd
Hasselbaink against Ramon. I think the draw is more of a
wish, another away game where I can't see us scoring or
keeping a clean sheet. It's conceiveable that we will get
a beating as there might be a lack of backbone with the
players reaction to the crowd booing of Graham last week.
First goal, anyone Spurs, just as long as its the only
one. No one amongst the Spurs following expected anything less than a defeat here and it duly arrived with the regularity of a Graham away day with Tottenham. |
| Derby County - Home 21st October - Prediction Spurs to win 4-2 |
| I very nearly went for a 1-0 win for
Derby as they are due a win and we are not very good
compounded by injuries to key players, but I've opted for
an ultra postive approach and think that Spurs will be
the third team to score 4 against Derby in their last 3
matches and think that Mad Ramon and Roberto Carlos will
mean that Spurs cannot keep a clean sheet. Rebrov for the
first goal or maybe Leo, Anderton or Perry at better odds. Right margin, but overestimated on the number of goals. Managed to hint at Leo at 14/1 |
| Coventry - Away 14th October - Prediction Spurs to win 3-1 |
| We should be able to beat a poor Coventry
team even with our modest away record. A repeat of the
performances at Charlton and Leeds games, despite not
being great, should be enough as long as the forwards
take their chances. Still worried about Vega at the back
and would like to see Young or King and Walker will be
playing as Sully is banned. Will do either Leo or Rebrov
for the first goal and if the goal is early enough hope
we can go on to win with a degree of comfort. I justhope
its better than the game last season Another blinding success for me!! - my optimism got the better of the facts associated with a George Graham away side |
