Glastonbury 2004 - June 24th - 28th

Thursday - 24th
8:30 - head off with aj - good run down until bristol - the m32 is at a stand still so take a gamble on the ring road - stop at sainsburys for a 'truck stop'
11:20 - 12:10 - we head off towards a37 - obviously the bristol road system has been rearranged since last time i was down - eventually we find our way.
arriving at the site it is wet underfoot - there is the new policy of id at the gate
our usual spot is packed out so have a wander and pitch up at the back of the other stage by the dodgy tunnel - it's a bit windy but manage to put up the tent before it gets blown away
meet up with the podmeister-general and entourage
wait for bro and jd - who have been diverted to the other carpark a mile away on the other side of the site - eventually they arrive having walked over the entire site with the biggest load
we put the new tent up and chill out - have some noodles and have a wander round the main stages and some beer
england v portugal - owen's goal / rooney's foot / portugal equalise / campbells disallowed on 90 / extra time portugal ahead / lampard's equaliser / penalties but alas not to be - becks & vassell miss + portugal goalie scores - during the ups and downs i managed to gash open both shins on a beer tent tent peg - so much for my unscavedness
have a wander with jd to scout out new configuration - green fields / avalon / lost vagueness

Friday - 25th
9:00 - breakfast - performers contruct a pirate ship out of scrap before our very eyes
11:00 - other stage - kasabian - lsf / club foot / processed beats / id
11.40+ - dance tent - catch the end of cakeboy as the system crashes
12:00 - meet up with c&l
have a wander glade / jazz
14:00+ other stage - i am kloot - jb extols the virtues of boots hayfever cure / drink & disaster (storm warning) / love & disaster (twist) / transvestites and dead tv executives (86 tvs) / a strange arrangement of colour / from your favourite sky / this house is haunted / to you (featuring guy off of elbow) / having run over the alotted time - life in a day is cut short when the plug is pulled leaving jb slightly miffed
15:00 - other stage - the rapture - olio / echoes / sister saviour / house of jealous lovers 16.05 - pyramid stage - elbow - guy starts off with 'hello we're from bolton and we are very happy' - ribcage / not a job / fugitive motel / newborn / bitten by the tailfly / switching off / grace under pressure (being recorded for a single supposedly out on monday - alas does not appear for some weeks)
17:50 - other stage - snow patrol - glastonbury virgins - chocolate / run (dedicated to a recently deceased fan) / splitting games
19:20 - other stage - franz ferdinand - take me out
19:30 new bands tent - electrelane - blue straggler / gone under sea / i want to be the president / on parade / bit between / on fire / uor (mia lead guitarist continues even with broken strap)
20.50+ - other stage - goldfrapp - pony tail - strict machine
21.05+ - pyramid stage - kings of leon - what? no beards - holy roller novocaine / red morning light / california waiting / molly chambers

Saturday - 26th
