Prayer Diary

never doubt the power of prayer Please accept this invitation to send in a request for prayers. Your request will be prayed about at the weekly prayer meetings of the member churches of OAK. We make up a prayer list from requests and other issues that may seem relevant at the time. We pray for people in all situations and circumstances, and have already seen prayers being answered in many different ways. Please use the Feedback form which can be filled in anonymously to do this giving as much or as little detail as you feel appropriate. If you prefer, forward your prayer request to Rev John Watson, tel 01224 632028.

  1. Rev David Collinson is reaching the end of his ministry at Crown Terrace (in keeping with the Methodist practice of itinerant ministers). He will be leaving us in August 2001. Please pray for him and Anne as they look ahead to a new ministry in Berwick-on-Tweed starting in August. Pray that their remaining months in Aberdeen may be especially blessed and happy. Please also pray for their successors, Colin and Joyce Wilson, coming to us from Shetland.
  2. Please pray for talks taking place regarding a new venue for the OAK Cafe. We hope that they may result in a new cafe which is better equipped, more attractive, disabled-friendly and more pleasant for everyone who goes there. So far these talks have been very positive. Pray that they may continue in this spirit and that members of the planning group are open to what God wants them to do. Please pray that He may bless the work and workers at the current OAK cafe at St Mark's.
  3. Please pray for our Associated Prebyterian friends who were made homeless after losing their church in Alford Place in July. Ask God to bless them richly in this time of change and to be with them as they explore ways forward with members of The Gordon Mission in Old Aberdeen.
  4. Please pray that OAK and its people are powered by prayer - that everything we do is done in the name of Christ and to the glory of God. Pray for unity and love among our churches. Also remember our ministers: David Collinson, John Watson and Graeme Muckart. Pray that God will continue to bless their ministries and that they may find strength and energy to serve God as he calls.
  5. Pray for the work of the Cogwheel Trust among the children of the poorest families in India.

Please e-mail your prayer requests using the Feedback form. They will be passed on to the various OAK prayer groups that meet throughout the week and will be treated with confidence. If you would also like your request to appear on this page, please do say so. Please give as much information as you feel comfortable in giving. Thank you.
