Foreword

Since the first version of this book was written in 1990, times have changed almost out of all recognition.

But the core questions facing Christ's disciples remain the same:

1. In what way(s) is God engaged in mission today?
2. What sort(s) of church do we need if we are to play our part in God's mission activity? 

While much is new and many sections have been re-written and updated, the process of exploration set out in this book still provides a valuable way of addressing these questions - 
even though God is all the time requiring us to think of more and more radical answers.
