Line-up changes...?
Word on the street (and on the net) has it that
there is a new face in Soulcraft....
Soulcraft have been off the scene for some time
now, writing some new material and generally sorting out the musical direction.
Yet to be officially confirmed, rumour has it that Soulcraft will soon
be unveiling someone new in the rhythm section!
Soulcraft Headline at The Zodiac
Soulcraft will be headlining at The Zodiac on
Cowley Road, Oxford on Friday 28th November.
Live Interview with Soulcraft
Soulcraft will be on air on Tuesday 25th November
on Oxygen FM talking about their live session and life in general!
New Demo Being Recorded
As you read this, Soulcraft are in the throes
of recording their third demo, as yet, untitled. This demo will feature
four tracks, two of which have finally been thrashed into shape and at
least one brand new track.
This recording sees a departure from the nearly
traditional winter, intensive, week-long recording sessions at Warehouse
Studios in Kennington, Oxford. This time, it's time to try out new-boy
Ed's 8 track digital gear from the comfort of his house. (Perhaps
not so comfortable for his neighbours!).
The latest news is that we have got a nice bass,
drums and one guitar sound. Next task is getting the rhythm parts down
for the tracks.
Keep and eye (and an ear) on this site for samples
from the new demo....
Soulcraft Invited to Record Live
Session
Last weekend saw a mad adventure to the worlds
tiniest recording studio for a quick live session for local Oxford radio
station, Oxygen FM. Should go out Tuesday 25th November '97 between 7pm
and 9pm.
Somehow we managed to get to the session in the
middle of Oxford on a Saturday afternoon with all our gear. Thanks has
to go to all the people at the Westgate Centre who kindly helped us flaunt
the parking and loading regulations while we got the gear into and out
of the station...
Soulcraft Play Radio One Sound
City 97
Well, sorry you missed it.
October 29th was one of the hottest nights on
the Official Fringe of Sound City 97, headlined by Dustball with Arthur
Turner's Lovechild?, Cody and of course, SOULCRAFT. Only our second gig
with new drummer, Ed, but a damn fine one. Pity we ran out of time - we
thought we had 45 minutes but it turned out we had 35...
Cool.
New Drummer Settles In
It's got to be a couple of months at least since
Ed first got the job as drummer. It took a bit of searching to find the
right man to fill Squib's shoes and rather than go for someone who does
the same sort of thing as Squib, Ed's selection marked the start of a new
twist to the sound and music of Soulcraft.
Ed is not a fan of straight rock beats and does
his damnest to get Drum 'n' Bass, trippy and other more dancey rhythms
into the new material in particular. Nice one.
