During the past ten years Observer Books have become
very collectable. For older collectors they are also, perhaps, a reminder of childhood
enthusiasms for cars, trains, or birds.

In the trade they were seen as
one of the miracles of post-war publishing. Observer Books are still being
sold today, but under the Penguin Label. However, for book collectors at least, the
most sought-after ones are those published by Frederick Warne & Co. Ltd between 1937
and 1982.
