How do you review a film so massively over hyped and over scrutinised as this one.The story of a group of three students making a documentary about the "Blair Witch" legend who go deep into the woods and fall foul of the horrors that lie therein.

This is a film which people seem to either love or hate in equal measures, it's a film you can either get into or simply can't, which leads to some people calling it the greatest horror film ever and some calling it the biggest pile of crap ever.To me it's neither, it's just an excellent and genuinely creepy horror picture which grabs hold of you and wont let go. The actors do a great job of making you believe it all and making you care what happens to them. The grainy quality of the picture also reinforces the feel that the film could be real, and the subject matter will appeal to anyone who's ever went camping in the woods and lay awake at night listening to strange noises outside. This simply blows away Hollywood crap like the "Scream" films and should be applauded for at least being more original, although the idea of a group going missing while making a documentary and the film turning up later is hardly a new one, "Cannabal Holocaust" and others come to mind a few times while watching this one.

The DVD cant be faulted with some excellent extras for both DVD and DVDrom and has a picture and sound quality that is perfect considering the equipement used to film it.
