How the hell did these films get banned, it's amazing to me the hysteria that surrounded the golden era of video when if released today most would pass, although with cuts. This film is a great example of the feeling of the time when any film with "Cannibal" in the title was in for some trouble with the censors.

Dont get me wrong though, this is no kiddies film and has a few excellent scenes of nasty gore and violence. Now, the storyline of this one is very strange but here goes.

American p.o.w.'s in Vietnam are kept in a pit and somehow develop a taste for human flesh, and lose thier marbles.When they are eventually rescued one of them bites the guy that saved them. Later at home in the States he starts getting cravings of his own but manages to hold them off, to cut a long story short he eventually hooks up with his old cannabal mates and goes on the rampage. This film is a great laugh and has some great action scenes with a great encounter between the cannabals and a biker gang, guess who wins? An entertaining film with some cool gore and the usually predictable ending.

Gore highlights

Eye poppings, a cool scene where the cannabals slowely carve chunks out of a guys leg with a power saw, and the great scene where one of the cannabals has his guts blown out by a shotgun leaving a gaping hole in his waist are among the shocks in store.
