Ok, before I comment on the film I want to point out that although the UK Redemption release of this film is cut by 11 sec, it was until the recent DVD release, the longest most complete version anywhere. This is the original Italian version with only a few missing scenes and I believe, all the gore intact. Other versions existed containing the footage missing from this print, but missing other, more important scenes. A laserdisc, for example with a running time of only 105 min with 12 min cut by Argento himself for some reason. When I see the new DVD I will update this page with the added footage.
A classic of the Giallo genre, this film shows the murderer carrying out a series of brutal murders with a witness to one of the murders in hot pursuit, trying to piece together the clues which will lead him to the killers identity. A fantastic ending is the icing on the cake of one of Argento's best movies. Anyone looking for an introduction to the classic Italian horror movie can't go far wrong with this suspenseful film. Seek it out!
