Basically a remake of the original for a wider audience and with a larger budget, watering down the gore scenes and adding more humor. Anyone expecting a true sequel will be disappointed, but the film is still good and after squeezing the events of the first film into the first few minutes carries on where it left off in a great scene where Ash is possessed, leading to an excellent climax .
