zombie flesheaters
aka zombie

Directed by lucio fulci
1979
Zombie, while being a blatent cash in on the
success of "Dawn"still ranks as one of
the great zombie flix. The gore is fantastic, the atmosphere is
great and the acting is as cheesy as ever. When her father goes
missing a young woman and a reporter she meets along the way make
thier way to the remote tropical island where he and his partner
had been doing research, eventually finding the island and
discovering her father died after falling foul of a voodoo curse
that is bringing the dead back to life.Soon finding themselves
being overun by zombies they are caught in a desperate struggle
alongside the remaining survivors on the island.
This is one of Fulci,s best movies with explicit
gore and some fantastic set pieces which i,ve never really seen
bettered ,notably the splinter in the eye scene.I cant really
recommend it highly enough.
Gore highlights
.The first scene on the yaucht see,s a policeman
having a large chunk of his neck ripped out in a very nasty
close-up shot.
.The numerous head shootings against the
zombies.
.The zombie vs shark scene is very funny with
the zombie taking a chomp out of the shark and then having one of
his arms ripped right off.
.The large splinter of wood through the eye
scene is the peak of nastyness as its shown in close-up and in
agonising detail.
.The next scene shows the zombie,s chowing down
on her remains in a classic piece of zombie shock film.
There,s an excellent scene where an attacking
zombie has his head turned to mush by a heavy blow.
.A woman has a chunk of her neck ripped out with
blood jetting everywhere.
.Also there,s lots of other chompings into
arms,shootings which completelly destroy zombie's heads,burning
zombies and general mayhem to keep any gorehound more than happy.
