This is a truly great horror film which has been over-looked
by many, its one of the best zombie films ever (I should know,
i've seen a few) and needs to be enjoyed in its uncut form, as
cut it doesn't have the same impact, although its still great to
watch.
The story begins when the two main characters are thrown
together by fate. "George" and "Edna" meet
when she accidentally reverses into his motorbike at a petrol
station, and so feels dutybound to give him a lift to where he is
going. Unfortunatly for him he never gets there, as he is pulled
into a series of events beyond his control. The zombies in this
picture are brought back to life by a farming machine which uses
ultra sonic sound which makes insects kill each other, thus
saving crops. What they dont realise is it also works on the
dead, bringing them back to life with a craving for human flesh.
The main characters are superb, especially "George" who
has some great lines which every man watching will relate to, and
"Edna" plays the typical screaming woman in need of
help. The detective ,a hippy hating Irishman
"McCormack" who takes an instant dislike to
"George" and is determined to stich him up is brilliant
too.
Anyone reading this who is a fan of zombie movies must
see this film, and even if you're not this could convert you .
Gore Highlights
A policeman gets well and truly done in by the
zombies, he has a gravestone thrown at him which rips his leg
open, he is then gutted, has his eyes removed (you dont actually
see it happen) and generally eaten.
A receptionist gets one of her breasts ripped
off and her guts ripped out.
There's a nasty axe in the head scene.
Other than that just the usual gun shots and
other wounds to and from the zombies that you expect from a film
of this quality.
