DVD Review

What can you say about this film. A true classic of the genre and a film every horror fan must see. Until recently unavailable in the UK. Now available uncut, at last. How was this film ever banned? It is a very powerful film which shows the physiological torture of a girl by the cannibalistic family of nutters, and hits home very hard in the scenes where she is tied to the chair waiting to die. Excuse me if I'm being stupid here but isn't the whole point of a good movie to move you emotionally in some way? If not then what's the point, this film contains no excessive gore, nudity, rape or violence yet still has carried an almost legendary status as a video nasty. This tag has no doubt done wonders for sales of the film but also does the film a great discredit. I am a big fan of this one and as it was released theatrically again a short time ago I had to get down to my local cinema and check it out on the big screen. Unfortunately many of the other people there had never seen the film before and were expecting the goriest film ever! The result being a great deal of disappointment from idiots who only went to see it to try and look hard in front of their girlfriends, laughing at many of the scenes containing Leatherface pursuing the girl. I was seriously pissed off and no mistake! I felt like getting up and shouting "Fuck off and watch Scream 2 if you cant handle a real horror film"

Anyway enough ranting, just get it, it's as simple as that!
