Zombie 3
Aka Zombi 3
Bruno Mattei, Luco Fulci
1987

Difficult film to get hold of , this one, but
for me it was worth it. Most reviews i've read about this one
have said it was rubbish but I disagree, I admit that I love
zombie films in general but I wont just watch any crap .(see
Zombie Lake review for an example) For me, this is a very
enjoyable film with some excellent gore scenes and is superior to
the very similar 1981 film Zombie Creeping Flesh.
Originally the work of Lucio Fulci who fell
ill at an early stage, Bruno Mattei took over and the film feels
more like his work.
Once again zombies are running rampant,
killing everyone in sight, the reason this time is a biological
experiment which gets released when someone attemps to steal it
and gets contaminated, after that it gets spread over a large
area when the military stupidly burn the bodys of the infected
people causing acid rain and infected birds, eventually the army
goes ballistic and decides to wipe out every living thing in the
infected area, the main story involves a small group of soldiers
and others they meet trying to survive attacks by the ferocious
zombies and the military hell bent on wiping them out.
Gore
Excellent scene early on when the contaminated
man trys to save himself by chopping his hand off with one swipe
in a jet of blood.
The attack of the zombie birds has to be seen
to be believed.
Some great throat rippings although the skin
does seem a bit rubbery ( You mean it,s not realistic? who cares,
it's a good laugh)
You wont believe the zombie birth which turns
very nasty with the onlookers getting chomped.
