I'm studying
with the Open University to get a BSc (Hons). So far I've
completed almot 3 years out of 6 and they've gone something like
this...
1997 - MST121 - Maths; L130 - German
1998 - M206 - Computing: an object-oriented approach
In 1999 I am studying T293 - Communicating Technology and T223 - Micro-processor based computers.
2000 sees me going for 90 points - T305 (Digital communications) and MT262 (Putting computer systems to work)
Here are some links to other useful sites:
The OU students web site - get your latest TMA & CMA results here (you need to have registered and have a username and password first)
Nigel Gibson's home page - also studied M206 in 1998, so phollow the phrog! Recently updated, it's bigger and better than ever
whatis.com - one of my favourite sites that explain lots of IT words and TLAs (three letter acronyms) that appear often in T293
How Stuff Works - a fab site for T293 which explains how lots of stuff works, e.g. telephones, mobiles, television etc. etc. in a friendly and understandable way
PC Guide - this is a web site about PCs (funnily enough) - handy for T223
Eddy Hunt's T223 page - he's an OU tutor in the London region and has some helpful info from tutorials
Jim Mackie's T223 page - Unusual graphics and colour schemes combined with some useful T223 questions (which Jim will mark!) and downloads of the T223 glossary in many formats
Webopaedia - this is a kind of online enclyopaedia all about computer technology. It was written by a guy called Peter Norton, who also wrote a really helpful, readable book called "Inside the PC".
