About KEST

Background:

KEST was started in 1989 by a group of indigenous evangelical Christian leaders who had a vision for Christian leadership development for the Church in Uganda. Their vision was grounded in the prevailing situation of a Church that was growing very fast, but without adequate training programmes and facilities to equip leaders.  That vision was translated into a mission which KEST exists to fulfill.

What is KEST?

Kampala Evangelical School of Theology (KEST) is a unique institution in Uganda. It is still the only theological school that can claim:

  • To be Ugandan-founded
  • To be Ugandan led with an African philosophy but within a global community
  • To be both evangelical and inter-denominational
  • To offer biblical and holistic training geared to the specifc needs of 21st Century African church.

Conference Info:

KEST offers or is developing a wide variety of modular and enrichment programmes to run concurrently with the regular programme or during the long vacation between June and August.

For example:

  • Intensive Courses (for credit)
  • The KEST Bible Exposition Conference (annual)
  • The KEST Theological Conference
  • Other Workshops & Seminars (E.g.: Politics as a Christian Mission, Children at Risk Workshop, Peace Makers Conference)
