The software runs as a screen saver on your PC and takes 12 Hours plus to scan data downloaded from the Arecibo Radio Telescope, looking for intelligent radio signals. Your PC doesn't have to be online all the time and the screen saver makes an interesting conversation piece. You could well be famous if your PC is the one that finds Aliens!
