Our regular Why not check Back Issues |
Dear Diary ... Our community "bobby" popped into the office today for a general chat. He timed the visit to coincide with the kettle being switched on - police intelligence is first rate when it comes to "smelling a kettle boiling"! He had made investigations ove the mysterious "holes" that had appeared recently is some toughened glass on the ground floor entrance of one of our low rise blocks. It appears that they were made by an air pistol/gun and not ball bearings "fired" from a catapult. He said that the police were "making inquiries" and had informally interviewed two youngsters. It is always good to have the police pop into the estate office for a chat - and a cup of tea! And having an individual "copper" dedicated to our area really does help. We have noticed that a lot of our elderly residents fell less afraid these days, now that they see a uniformed policeman walking through the estate on a regular basis. Our housing office also has a good relationship with the police - and this help with Gloucester's "Safer Estates" scheme, which is similar to the many other initiatives up and down the country where police and housing departments combine to tackle anti social behaviour. The strange case of the "top secret" email addresses of Councillors continues! Still no phone call from "the powers that be". The good people at TenZero have fixed the problem that has knocked out our guest book for the past few weeks. |
