Dear Diary ... Our estate caretaker showed today thay he "cares"! He spotted a Sunday newspaper outside a flat in the block he was cleaning. So he knocks on the door, but go no reply. He was somwhat concerned as he knew that there was someone living there who was not too well. He telephoned the TCC Office and we were able to put his mind at rest. The resident was, in fact, in hospital - a pre-planned admittance. It is good to know that we have a caretaker who uses his eyes - and reacts when he sees something out of the ordiary! Well done, Tony!! The mention on Friday of not receiving minutes of the September TCC meeting appears to have got some action! Just after noon today, the "head honcho" (in the old terminology, the Area Housing Officer - but they are called something else since CCT) of the Westgate Housing Office hand delivered an envelope that contained not only sheets of paper with the minutes printed on them, but also a floppy disc containing the file. So, on the eve of the October meeting, we are able to post our September meeting minutes in the appropriate place ... if you have forgotten, just click here! Still no indication if one of our representatives on Tenants Forum will be able to attend tomorrow morning's Forum. One had hoped to be able to slip away from work for an hour, but learned today that a foriegn television crew were descending on his work tomorrow morning. As he is the "press officer" he would be very conspicuous by his absence! Our other representative works out of town for Her Majesty's Government. Other tanant representatives who are having problems in attending have been in touch with us. There is, of course, one question on our minds: Just what are "they" up to? |
