Dear Diary ...

Our little game "Spot The Estate Service Worker" continued throughout the day!

There were no reported sightings, though someone did say something about there being dinosaurs on the telly. Perhaps the next series will be on Estate Service Workers.

Our caretaker did manage to clear a few leaves up ... and do a litter pick. But it he was not able to do all the usual Tuesday jobs on his schedule.

We did try to telephone the Housing Manager. Alas, she was not available. So we left a message for her to phone us back.

Still waiting! We reckon that she has now gone home. Pity she did not live on our estate - she might have slipped on some of the wet leaves and would then have realised the importance of keeping on top of leaf clearance!

Had an internet "chat" with Diane, the chair of a tenant group in Manchester. She was asking what is being done about Tenant Participation Compacts in Gloucester.

Unfortunately, we were not able to give her much help as our tenat group has not been involved in the "working party" looking into the subject.

But we did offer to send a copy of the latest committee "paper".

The Compacts concern us a little. From what we gather, the Government is looking for local authoritiy housing departments to have "estate" level compacts. No one from the council has approached us yet!

But the Gloucester "thinking" is to have compacts based on the five area offices. Again, no one from the council has contacted us yet.

Perhaps this will be an agenda item for our November meeting!

Oh, and Diane ... good luck with your talk at the meeting this week!
