We run Playgroup sessions for 3 to 5 year old boys and girls most mornings and afternoons, Monday to Friday.
The costs are usually covered by government funding (5 sessions per week). We
always receive excellent Social Services and OfSted appraisal reports - copies
are available for inspection (& see link below).
Some sessions are
reserved for rising five’s (age 4+) and are intended to help prepare the child
for starting school. There is no parent helper or showing time during this session.
We have started a Rising 5's Lunch Club, which costs extra to cover staff
and rent.
Other sessions are for any child age 3 to 5. One parent
helper is required for each normal session, which reduces costs and gives parents
a useful insight into how Playgroup functions (plus the children like it -
particularly if its mum or dad). Each week has a general theme such as opposites,
autumn or colours. Each session has a showing time for which children
are encouraged to bring in articles to show and discuss that relate to the weeks
theme.

Note: For those going onto West Ilsley's Primary School there is also
'Ilsley Under Fives Playgroup' that meets in the main hall in Ilsley's Primary
School and a 'Parent and Toddlers' group that meets in their village hall every
Wednesday. |
