Public and private organizations giving information about the creation of companies

In Paris, a person wishing to create his/her own business can find help with many private or public organizations (research, information relating to the legal status, tax and social issues for the entrepreneur, etc.).  This list is not exhaustive.

Research:

• The Bureau de l’action économique de la Préfecture de Paris offers a free guide called "élaborer, entreprendre, gérer" (to develop, undertake, manage) providing a complete description of the creation procedure.  It gives details about organizations which may help the company creator complete his/her plan.  It may be obtained on request from:

• The CANAM (health insurance for the professions) delivers a free guide called "Objectif entreprise".  This practical book makes it possible to test the feasibility of a plan and to choose a legal, fiscal and social status adapted to each position.

• The Chambre des Métiers de Paris (Paris Guild Chamber) offers company creators or acquirers of failing craft firms help relating to many questions concerning their project.  The "Service des affaires économiques" (department of economic affairs) also offers advice.  Personalized follow ups are given by appointment (marketing, export assistance, etc.).

- Department of economic affairs: counseling office, open Monday to Wednesday (8.30 a.m. to 7.15 p.m.) and Friday (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) (free of charge):

• Jobseekers meeting requirements for assistance from "ACCRE" (Aide aux Chômeurs Créateurs ou Repreneurs d’Entreprise) (financial assistance for jobseekers who create or takeover a company) may receive nominal "chéquiers conseils".  This allows them to receive advice from a specialist for the period ranging from the beginning of their plan to up to twelve months after the creation of their company.
