Log-it the Diving Logbook

The Log-it Diving Logbook has been in production for 11 years. A primary objective was to construct a logbook to survive the rigours of practical use and still remain intact and attractive. It is a case bound book, the spine is stitched and glued, and we made the cover flexible enough to cope with the contours of whatever bag it will be packed into and still come back into shape. The Logbook is not waterproof, but will live in its plastic cover in a dive bag without coming to harm.

There is space for 80 dives in each Logbook. Two pages are devoted to each dive with sufficient room for recording as much -or as little - detail as the dive deserves, e.g. transits, diagrams or photographs. The layout prompts the diver to record the important objective information about the dive on the left-hand page, leaving the right hand page free for descriptive comment. The Log-it Logbook does not conform to the terminology or methods of any particular diving organisation, it just follows good diving practice which is common to all organisations.

There are pages at the front of the book dedicated to jotting down information associated with the sport: - telephone numbers of people involved in your diving; air stations, their opening times; hardboats, the skipper's name, what he charges, etc. There is a page for recording equipment service dates or cylinder tests. There is also an air consumption graph that is often of interest to those new to the sport. We tried to expand the function of the basic logbook to cover these important areas.

LOG- IT DIVING LOGBOOK - 2ND EDITION

Eighteen months ago, after nine successful years, it was time to adjust the contents to reflect changes in sport diving practices, and we took the opportunity to add a few extras!

What is the Same ?

- Quality construction - case bound (stitched along the spine), resilient cover with quality blockwork, they don't fall apart.

- 80 dives in each logbook, two pages dedicated to each dive.

- Size, colour and quality remain the same. (Now we do a silver version as well!)

- The book still has directories in the front and back for jotting down information about the user's diving activities.

What's Improved?

- The Dive Records now have space for details of mixed gas dives and, by customer demand, a dive profile and surfacing codes.

- The Dive Shop / record (Page 6) has improved with a tick box facility.

- The Equipment Record is more concise.

What's New?

- Launch Site Record for knowing when landing/recovery is difficult and who to pay.

- Slack Water Notes in the back of the book for favourite tidal sites.

- Quality Matt paper to ensure no smudging from fresh ink or stamps.

The Swimming Man

For the kid in us! Flick through the top right hand corner of the book and you will see the diver in the Log-it symbol swim its way through the book.

The 2nd Edition Log-it Diving Logbook has a recommended retail price of £12.50 (inc postage and packing, and VAT).
